There are plenty of well built and beautifully crafted acoustic guitars out there. But a guitar is not a work of art. It is an instrument with which works of art are created. If a guitar is built too well it won't vibrate like it needs to. So it just won't sound as good. I once heard that, 'The best acoustic guitar is one that's falling apart in your hands.'

my guitar is falling apart. i have a crack on the face and an even bigger crack on the back. this makes me sad.
